FAITH-FULL
I tell you the Truth,
Where does your faith come from?
Is it something you’re born with? Is it an inherited thing? How
does it grow? Why do some people seem to have greater and stronger faith
than others? Let's take a quick look at this thing called faith...
Romans 10:
17So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (KJV)
Romans 10:
17So faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the word of Christ.
(NAS)
Romans 10:
17Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message
is heard through the word of Christ. (NIV)
Romans 10:
17So faith comes from hearing the Good News, and people hear the Good
News when someone tells them about Christ. (NCV - New Century Version, The
Inspirational Bible)
Romans 10:
17So this thing called faith is the result of hearing, and to be able
to hear, someone or something must tell people about Jesus and His Good News
story! (TWT - Truth Works Translation!)
No matter how you cut it, it comes down
to one thing - you and I are not naturally full of faith. Without hearing
the message of God, our faith is little more than believing in Santa Clause or
the Easter bunny. True faith comes from God. And we receive it
through His Word, whether by reading it or by hearing it from someone else.
So you and I have two things to do
today. One - read the Word! It will increase your faith, draw you
nearer to Him and give you greater peace in this life. Two - share the
Word. If faith comes by hearing, then who's going to tell those that don't
know? It is up to you and I to spread the message of the Good News so that
others might hear the Word, receive the faith and accept Christ by that faith.
It all starts in God's Word. I tell you again and again, without daily
Bible study, you and I cannot have an abundant faith. His Word is our
strength.
As always, I encourage you to read the
Word daily and pray without ceasing.
Your Servant,

Randy Hunt

Prayer Requests
(and Praises!)
Please be
in prayer for my wife, Lisa, who was informed yesterday that she’ll need to undergo
laser surgery on her eyes on November 7. She
has been diagnosed with glaucoma since her 20’s and this will be the second
time she’s had this type of laser surgery.
Thank you so much.

Greetings everyone,
“I want you to know that I thank you for praying for me and I ask that you
continue to do so.
Denise and I have been in the surgeon's office this afternoon and they are going
to do surgery on me this Thursday morning.
This is going to be a major surgery, where they have to open me from one side to
the other and take out the bottom 1/3 of my stomach and cut the vega nerves that
go to the stomach and do a bypass to correct the problem.
He told me that I would be in the hospital from 5-7 days and a month recovery
time. I ask each one of you to pray and I'm asking God for things not to
be as bad as they think and the procedure will be minor.
I want you to know that we love you very much and I thank you from the bottom of
my heart for you love and prayers.
In His Service,
Mike Jenkins”
“Dear
Family and Friends:
Please pray for our new grandson, Mark Patrick Steele. He came home from
the hospital 2 weeks ago seemingly a perfect little baby. This evening he was medi-vac'd to
Children's Hospital in
Pittsburgh
in critical condition. He
went for his 2 week check-up this morning and the pediatrician put him in the
hospital immediately thinking he was starting to experience de-hydration. After
all the poking and prodding, blood test, IV's, etc. it was determined from his
chest xray that his heart was enlarged. An Echo-cardiogram later in the
afternoon confirmed the worse that his heart was too weak to keep up with his
growth. He is experiencing something along the lines of what an adult would
experience with congestive heart failure. Nothing short of a miracle from God
can save him. It's not like a faulty heart valve or something surgery can
correct. Pray for his momma and daddy and big brother, Shannon, Pat and Matthew.
Shannon and Pat are driving to
Pittsburgh
as I write this message. Veda
and I are taking care of Matthew.
Shannon
's last words to me were that
the doctor gave them little hope -perhaps a 10 to 20% chance of
survival-but that the Pitt. Hospital has statistically had the best outcome in
cases like this.
Please pray for us and pass this message on to others you know will pray. We
will be eternally grateful to you for your prayers.
I will try to update you as I can.
Thank you!
Tom and Veda”
Please reply if you have prayer requests, comments or simply need an open ear. I always enjoy hearing from you.
