SUPERNATURAL I tell you the Truth, The supernatural world is one that we tend to ignore in our day to day lives. It’s a world of the extraordinary. Miraculous events are not what we expect and we tend to leave them where we think they belong – in between the chapters of Genesis and Revelation. Why do we lack faith in the supernatural power of God? What keeps us from seeing miracles in our own lives? Is God still in the supernatural business? Well, the Word says that God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. To think that God cannot perform in the supernatural is to think that He is not the God that we say we believe in. To more fully understand the working power of the supernatural, let’s look at some examples of the power that flowed through Jesus.
Matthew 12:
John 5:
Matthew 9: All three instances we’ve just read resulted in the supernatural. And all three instances had another common denominator – a simple action of the natural. Stretching out the hand, getting up and touching are natural actions. Before I go on, please understand that I’m not saying that God always works in this manner. But quite often, we find that God will call us to take a step in the natural in order to experience the supernatural. Prayer and faith are of utmost importance in our walk. But so often, God leads us to take that first step and we simply continue to sit and pray. We ask God to empower us, to propel us and to energize us. And we continue to sit there as if God should immediately pick us up, grab our feet and hands, leading us as if a puppet on a string. God gives us natural abilities. He’s given most of us a movement of limbs, a voice that can be heard and a brain that can react. He’s gifted us with talents. And there are times when He calls us into the supernatural. God will challenge us to step out on faith. But the initial step will always be in the natural, using the nature that He has given you. It’s that step of faith in the natural that leads us into the supernatural. Next time you experience the urging of the Spirit to take that step, whether it is to witness to a friend, to minister to someone in need or perhaps to accept a call into mission work, remember that the initial step will be a natural step. God has designed you with a natural ability to put yourself in motion. And that step, taken in faith, combined with the power of God will lead you into the supernatural. You’ll be shocked and amazed at what God can and will do through you. If God is calling you, consider taking that step. Step with the natural. And experience the supernatural. Your Servant,
