A Way Out I tell you the Truth, 1 Corinthians 10: Boy, can anyone relate to this Word from God?! How many times have I found myself standing on what I thought was the firm ground and became distracted just long enough that I found myself falling! It seems to happen over and over, time after time. And every time it happens, I end up wondering, "Why did I think I was so secure in my stance?" The fair warning from God is such a great word to hold onto. He goes onto remind me that nothing I’ve ever fallen temptation to is any different than any other man who has walked this great place we call earth. Even Jesus Himself was tempted in every way. He reminds me that I can find comfort in turning to my fellow Christian because we are all tempted. But even greater than this, God is faithful 100% of the time, day and night, 24-7-365. The Lord will not allow you be tempted beyond what you can bear. And if you think you are, He provides a way out. In other words, God will not allow you to be tempted by more than He can rescue you from. You see, Satan is the tempter of evil and he is under the direct authority of God. If God says, "Devil, take your hands off that young lady," Satan must let go. No if’s, and’s or but’s! God will provide many ways out of temptation. The most important way He provides is the found in. Ephesians 6: Your way out is in the Word and Prayer, which translates to constant communication with God. Verse 18 sums it up simply - pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. And be alert, because the devil’s schemes are many and diverse. Remember, it is the name of Jesus that Satan cannot and will not stand up to. You and I are no match for the fallen angle. It is only through His strength that we are able to stand. God bless and keep in mind that there is always a way out.
Your Servant, Prayer Requests (and Praises!) If you have a prayer request and would like to see it here, please drop me an email so we can share with others.
We lost a good friend this past week.
Joe Wright passed away a couple days ago from brain tumors. Joe was only a
couple years older than me and we attended the same college. He was
principal of one of our local middle schools and left behind two young daughters
and a wife. Please remember Joe's family as they must adjust to life
without a husband and father. Please reply if you have prayer requests, comments or simply need an open ear. I always enjoy hearing from you. <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< Copyright © 2007 Truth Works Publishing. All rights reserved.
