MY UNBELIEF I tell you the Truth, This marks the last Truth Works Devotion for the 03-04 school year. It’s been a long year with many twists and turns in my own world. But sometimes those difficult years are the ones where we receive the greatest blessings, the ones where we are drawn closer to God. I pray you continue to be drawn closer also. <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))<
Mark 9 Too often, we fail to understand that we have not arrived. We experience God through a trial, situation, worship, retreat, camp or mission trip. I’ve been to the mountain top many times thinking, “Wow, this is it! It can’t get any better!” And as quickly as I experience the encouragement of the Holy Spirit and the empowerment of God Almighty I begin to lean on that one experience and slowly become complacent, slipping straight back into my own weakness. I constantly have a need to be reminded that I haven’t arrived yet; I haven’t experienced the fullness of our Holy God. And I won’t experience that until my flesh is made immortal, until I’m transformed into the incorruptible. Until then, I need help in my faith. I need constant strengthening, day by day. Until that time, I need help to overcome my unbelief. God desires to do unbelievable things in our lives. At the same time, He also must keep us in the place where we realize that it is for His glory that He works through us. When we seek God’s face, He keeps us in balance, never empowering us with more than our pride can handle. Yet when we seek God’s face, He never leaves us empty and always goes with us, strengthening us to do what we cannot do on our own. The Word tells us that our faith is not our own, it is proportioned to us. It’s through life events that God increases our faith, allows us to go beyond our own ability. And each time we get there, we need to praise Him and give Him the glory. And each time we get there, we need to assess our lives and ask Him to help us with those areas that He plans to work next. And He will help us with our unbelief. I encourage you all to keep pressing on. Through the trial, through the valley, over the mountain and on the smooth road, we have to press on – all the while understanding that He is equipping us for His glory. Have a fabulous summer! Thank you all. I’m blessed by your friendship, your prayers and your encouragement! Press on. Your Servant, <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< Prayer Requests (and Praises!)
"Randy, I have a prayer request, please
pray for Wilbert Smith. He is a co-worker’s brother who fell and broke his back.
The doctors don't think that he will walk again. I don't know about Wilbert's
spiritual condition. Please reply if you have prayer requests, comments or simply need an open ear. I always enjoy hearing from you.
