LORD AND SAVIOR I tell you the Truth, Man has searched for the answer for centuries. Scientists spend endless hours searching. We want to know where we came from. I can tell you that the only reason we spent millions of dollars to fly a remote control car with video camera to Mars was to find the source of life. The world searches for answers about who we are and why we are here. But the world will not find its answer when it searches for it with the intent discrediting God’s word. The answers have been there since the beginning. We are here for one reason: for God’s pleasure. He created us for Himself. Our existence is due to His predestined will. The world rejects this message because the world has decided that it is better for man to live for his own pleasure. If we have no creator, we live for ourselves, our own selfish desires. Therefore, the world continues to search for a thread of evidence that God does not exist and that we are all just one big chance happening. What a hopeless existence it is to live with no God! But for us there is hope. Even through our failed perfection, God chose us. Praise God that He chose us without attachments, freely. Yet, so many of us still struggle with trying to earn God’s grace. Tell me how you can earn something that was given before creation? Tell me how we can earn righteousness? We can’t. We can only receive it. It is only in Christ that we become holy and blameless. Yes, we are to serve Him and obey Him. But our salvation is not given because of our service and obedience. That would be certain failure. Listen to Paul’s as he praises God for this very thing.
Ephesians 1: Please give me your ear - don’t beat yourself up trying to earn God’s love. Don’t exasperate yourself in trying to out work God. Simply follow. God never requires us to lead. Even those He that He equips to lead are to follow Him. He provides it all. While writing this devotional, I came across this quote which pretty simply conveys the message:
“It is not a question
of our equipment, but of our poverty; not what we bring with us, but what he
puts in us; not our natural virtues, our strength of character, our knowledge,
our experience; all that is of no avail. God can do nothing with people
who think they will be of use to him.” Submission is the key. Allow Him to be something beyond just a Savior. Allow Him to be Lord. God desires to use you. He can’t until He becomes both Lord and Savior. Your Servant, <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< Copyright © 2004 Truth Works Publishing. All rights reserved.
