CHOOSER NOT LOSER I tell you the Truth, GOT YOUR OWN WEB SITE? <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< <*))))))< Playing sports for most of my life and more recently through coaching, I’ve come to understand that attitude is extremely important. I was reminded the other day of a saying I’ve used in coaching that I also tried to live by when playing baseball or basketball. It goes something like this.
There are no born winners. And the same holds true in life, even in the spiritual life. Whether in sports or in life, we go through times when we feel like we’re in a rut, like we were born to lose. We look around us and see people succeeding, living what seems to be the life that we only dream about living. We can create our own mindset that we are a loser. If you’ve ever been there or perhaps you feel you’re at that place right now, I’ve got good news. No one is born to lose. We were all born to choose. That’s right. You chose the life you live. One of God’s greatest gifts to man is the gift to choose. In all we do, God allows us to choose. Obviously, the biggest choice we make in life is the acceptance or rejection of the grace of God through Jesus Christ that gives us eternal life. It is by your own choice that you accept or reject this gift. But even after accepting salvation through Jesus, we are still faced with choices. Each day offers a choice to obey or disobey God. Every turn of the day offers another choice, to turn away or toward sin. It is always a choice. God’s Word tells us that after we choose to follow Christ we must then choose every day to turn from sin. We must choose our attitude towards sin.
1 Peter 4: Do you sometimes feel like you were born to lose? Let me encourage you today to stop. Realize that you are not a born loser, but you are a born chooser. I encourage you to begin every day, each morning with the mindset that you will choose this day to follow Him. Tell Christ tomorrow morning that you choose Him over yourself. You choose to follow Him, to obey Him and to honor Him with your entire being. Be diligent with your choosing this week and see what wonders God will reveal to you in your life. Exercise your privilege to choose Your Servant,
